Welcome to Berlin!

Checkpoint Charlie One of the first stops on our tour of Berlin was Checkpoint Charlie. It's hard to imagine this section of the city looking like a no-mans land. Berlin, especially the former East Berlin, is undergoing major construction. If you go to Berlin I would definitely recommend the Checkpoint Charlie museum. It documents the history of the wall, including the display of escape mechanisms, as well as other human rights issues. It was my favorite part of Berlin.

The Wall They've saved a section of the wall and it is used as a place for artists to display their talent. A stone marker on the streets of Berlin indicates where the wall once stood. A Concrete Curtin: The Life and Death of the Berlin Wall
